Marissa Yates was born and raised in El Paso, Texas where she attended Faith Christian Academy and the University of Texas at El Paso. She received her bachelors degree in Microbiology and afterwards moved to Lubbock to attend medical school at Texas Tech. After receiving her medical degree she stayed on in Lubbock to complete her residency in Family Medicine at Texas Tech. After residency she has worked for Physician Network Services for 8 years. Starting in April 2017, she partnered with the Lubbock Heart and Surgical Hospital’s, Texas Physician’s Group.
Dr. Yates is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has a clinical appointment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Texas Tech. In addition to her practice, Dr. Yates has been married to her husband, Trevor, for 20 years and is a mother of 3 beautiful children.
As a family physician I have the privilege of being able to care for members of this community of all ages and from all walks of life. Whether they are coming in for an acute or chronic illness or for a well visit, I feel that my role is to help patients and their families live healthier lives by providing the highest quality, comprehensive care and by offering health education with an emphasis on disease prevention.

Linda Perez is a certified medical assistant and has been working with Dr. Yates since 2009. She has worked in the medical field for over 10 years and has experience in the areas of neurosurgery and family practice. In 2009, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015, Linda was awarded Physician Network Service’s ‘Employee of the Month’ award, which is given for outstanding customer service. In 2012 she was awarded the University Medical Center’s (UMC) ‘Employee of the Year’ Award. She has received several comments from patients regarding the compassionate and respectful care she provides over the years. Linda is here to answer any of your questions, and is an exceptional member of Dr. Yates’ team!
Linda is a Texas native, who moved back to Lubbock after 20 years in California. She has five children and is a Dallas Cowboys fan. Linda is a proud grandmother with 6 grand-daughters and a grandson. Linda is the lead nurse for Dr. Yates and is an integral part of her practice.
